Schedule

20 June ______________________________________________________________

Day 1 – Morning (9:00 – 11:30)

Immediate dental implants

Implant placement concepts. What is it? What is the success rate and how does it work? We will present the challenges inherent to the technique as: Exodontia, 3d positioning, primary stability, infected areas. We will present the two philosophies used by the group: Tissue Care Concept (Joseph Kan) and Immediate Dental Alveolar Restoration (José Carlos da Rosa).

Day 1 – Morning / Afternoon (11:45 – 13:00 / 13:30 – 14:30)

Biology of Socket Healing / Soft Tissue Management

We will present the concepts regarding the healing of the dental alveolus right after the dental extraction (alveolar anatomy process, resorption theory of the bundle bone of the dental alveolus, what happens to the alveolus after the dental implant placement?).

We will see the concept of modification of the gingival biotype through the sub-epithelial connective tissue graft (surgical technique, donor region, technique-related sutures)

Day 1 – Afternoon (14:45 – 18:00)

Hands-on 3D Implant Placement

In the first hands-on day, students will place two dental implants (one in the aesthetic region of the upper central incisor and another in the region of the upper premolars) following the concepts and techniques presented in the classroom.

21 June ______________________________________________________________

Day 2 – Morning (9:00 – 10:45)

Biomaterials x Autologous bone from tuberosity

On the second day we will present the aspects related to bovine biomaterials (xenogens) that are used to fill the gap between the implant and the buccal bone plate of the dental socket. As well as, the characteristics of the autologous tuberosity bone that is used in the IDR technique.

Day 2 – Morning (11:00 – 13:00)

Prosthetic Phase

We will present the keys to aesthetic success in the prosthetic phase, risks and strategies to prevent aesthetic complications. We will also mention the concept of platform switching, cemented or screw retained  prosthesis and the theoretical bases for making temporary crowns.

Day 2 – Afternoon (13:30 – 15:30 / 15:45 – 18:00)

Temporary Central Crown Hands-on

In the hands-on of the second day students will make a temporary crown in the implant placed in the upper central incisor following the concepts and techniques presented in the classroom. Hands-on Superior premolar (implant + CTG + Provisional)

In this second part of the hands-on, the students will learn how to perform the subepithelial connective graft, thus finalizing a case by Tissue Care Philosophy.

22 June ______________________________________________________________

Day 3 – Morning (9:00 – 11:00)

Clinical cases

In this first hour of the morning we will present a selection of clinical cases referring to the placement of immediate implants with immediate provisioning, following with all the concepts presented during the course.

Day 3 – Morning (11:15 – 12:45)

Atrophic jaws / All-on-Four® / Zygomatic Implants Brazilian Experience

In the second part of this morning, it will be presented an introduction to the surgical techniques used in atrophic jaws with emphasis on immediate prosthetic loading and all final course considerations.
