Prof. Dr. Cesar Arruda,
Graduated in Dentistry from Federal University of Santa Catarina in 2003. Specialist in Implantology from Brazilian Association of Odontology in the year 2007. Specialist in Periodontology and with a master’s degree in Implantology from São Leopoldo Mandic. Professor in several postgraduate courses in the area of Periodontology and Implantology in Brazil. Member of the Quality Implant Team and currently working as a Peri odontologist and Implantologist in the city of Florianópolis / SC (Brazil) with more than 10 years of experience in oral rehabilitation involving complex periodontal and peri-implant procedures.
Professor Cesar will discuss on the first day of the course the biology of modelling and remodelling of alveolar bone that occurs after tooth loss, and the importance of using bone and soft tissue reconstruction techniques (soft tissue management with connective tissue graft) to recover and maintain the characteristics of the peri-implant supporting tissues. He will also discuss the classical literature’s concepts from Jan Lindhe and Maurício Araújo (socket healing) to Joseph Kan (Tissue Care), among others. On the second day of the course, he will talk about the biology of Bio-Oss (Geistlich), the most researched biomaterial in the world and its importance to maintain the socket architecture after tooth loss.
